Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is there a fee or cost involved in having a visit?
NO. There is no fee, cost, or financial obligation of any kind connected to the programs. All booklets, materials and gifts provided during the visit become each family’s to keep, without further commitment. The only few things we ask in return is completion of a data form that collects information for our funding sources, which is kept strictly confidential, and about an hour of your time.

2. Is this program only for low-income families?
No. Bright Beginnings materials are available to any family with a child prenatal up to age 3. There are no other eligibility requirements.

3. Do I have to have someone come into my home?
No. You can have the materials reviewed with you at a place where both you and the Bright Beginnings visitor feel comfortable. This could be at your home, at a restaurant, or other community setting.

4. Can the visit be done prenatally?
Absolutely. We can visit you whenever it’s most convenient for you.

5. What languages are your materials in?
Currently Bright Beginnings materials are only available in English and Spanish.

6. Where do you get the names of parents who are visited by Bright Beginnings?
Parents are reached through hospitals, clinics, congregations, media efforts and word of mouth. Parents mail in a brochure requesting a home visit. We do not receive master lists of babies born from the state or any other agency nor do we share the names of people who received a visit from Bright Beginnings.

7. What is the difference between Colorado Bright Beginnings (CBB) and Metro Denver Bright Beginnings (MDBB)?
CBB is the state wide organization established to oversee the individual affiliates in the 13 regions around the state of Colorado. Metro Denver is one of those 13. The other affiliates are Greeley, Fort Collins, Boulder, Yuma, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Summit County, Grand Junction, Durango, Glenwood Springs, Steamboat Springs, and Gunnison.
